Terms of service

The agreement between you and HelioSync Technologies for the use of Advocate OS.

Some of the operator’s details are not set yet and are shown in [brackets]. The platform admin sets them in Settings › Legal.

01The agreement

Advocate OS is operated by HelioSync Technologies, which holds a licence to the software and runs the service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms, the privacy policy, the acceptable use policy and the refund policy. If you sign up for a firm, you confirm you may bind the firm.

02Your licence to use the service

We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own practice or your firm's work while your account is in good standing. The software, its design and its content remain the property of their owners. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer or build a competing service from it.

03Accounts

  • Give true details and keep them current. Keep your password and two-step sign-in to yourself.
  • The firm account controls its members, their roles and its data. A member who leaves loses access; the firm keeps the work.
  • You are responsible for what is done through your account.

04Your data

Your firm owns its data. We use it only to provide the service, as the privacy policy explains. You can export it at any time and delete it by closing the account. You confirm you have the right to put your clients' data into the service, including any consent the DPDP Act requires.

05AI output is not legal advice

AI features read, summarise and draft. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when they cite a source. Every citation, quotation, date, amount and deadline must be checked against the original before it is relied on or filed. Code-checked items are marked; anything the code could not verify is marked unverified.

Deadlines, court fees and limitation are computed by code from the rules as we understand them. They are a help, not a substitute for your own check of the statute and the court’s practice.

Court data comes from public portals that can be late, wrong or unavailable. We do not guarantee its accuracy or timeliness.

06Your professional responsibility

You remain the advocate. You are bound by the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules, including the duty of confidentiality and the bar on advertising and soliciting work (Rule 36). Advocate OS does not advertise or rank advocates. Do not use it to solicit clients; features that reach clients (updates, portal, WhatsApp) are for your existing clients and need their consent.

07Fees, wallet and taxes

  • Plans are priced in rupees on the pricing page and paid in advance for a month or a year. They do not renew unless you pay again.
  • AI credits and extra storage come from one prepaid wallet. The plan’s monthly allowance is used first. Prices per credit and per GB are on the pricing page.
  • GST is added at checkout and shown on the tax invoice.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
  • Refunds are covered by the refund and cancellation policy.

08Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and as the acceptable use policy describes. We may suspend an account that puts the service, other firms or the public at risk, and will tell you why unless the law forbids it.

09Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and publish its status. Maintenance, court portals and providers outside our control can cause interruptions. We may change features; we will not remove your ability to export your data.

10Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We may end the agreement on 30 days’ notice, or at once for a serious breach. Either way you will have at least 30 days to export your data, except where the law requires otherwise.

11Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost cases, or for decisions made on AI output or court data that were not checked. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [City: to be set by the platform admin] have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, write to the Grievance Officer so we can try to settle the matter.
