An Act to amend the law relating to Timber floated down the rivers of British Burma.
W H E R E A S it is expedient to amend the law relat- Preamble. ing to timber floated down the rivers of British Burma ; It is hereby enacted as follows :-

I.-Preliminary.
`1.` This Act may be called " The Burma Timber sh01.t title. Act, 1873 : "
It extends only to the territories for the time being Local extent. under the administration of the Chief Commissioner of British Burma ;
And it shall come into force on the seventh day of CommenceSeptember 1873. ment.
