(1) The Local Government may remove any member of a municipal committee who ceases to be an inhabitant of the municipality, or refuses to act, or becomes in the opinion of the Local Government incapable of acting, or is declared insolvent, or is convicted of any such offence, or subjected by a Criminal Court to any such order, as implies, in the opinion of the Local Government, a defect of character which unfits him to be a member, or who without sufficient excuse neglects for more than three consecutive months to be present at the meetings of the committee. (2) A person removed under this section on any ground except that first mentioned shall be disqualified for election until the Local Government otherwise directs. Filling of casual vacancies.
