(I) .A Provincial w 4 `E` C 1 ( Llmnsofspeod- LImlte of welght `and` llmltatlons on `use.` [ `AOT` IB .\lotc;r Vehicles. `71.` (1) No person shall drive a motor vehicle or. causc or allow a motor vehicle to be driven in any publio place at a speed exceeding the maximum speed fixed for the vehicle by or under this Act OP by or under any law for the time being in force : in no. Provided that such maximum speed shall in no. case exceed the maximum fixed for the vehicle in the Eight'h Schedule. (2) The Provincial Government or any authority authorised in this behalf by the Provincial Government may, if satisfied that it is necessary to restrict the speed! of motor vehicles in the interests of public safety or oonvenience or because of the nature of any road or bridge,. by notification in the official Gazette, fkx such maximum speed limits as it thinks fit for motor vehioles or any specified class of motor vehicles or for motor vehicles to which a trailer is attached, either generally or in a. particular area or on a pa~%icula r oad or roads.
