Whoever intentianally obstructs any office& in Dhe: exe~fib of of ment any powers given by this Act to such officer, shall be liable to im@soni ACT NO'. I. OF 1852. or ment for any term not exceeding six months, a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees, or both. VIII. Any person, who shall offer a bribe to any custom house officer in order to induce such officer to act in a ma;nner inconsistent with his duty, shall be liable for every such offence to a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees, or to imprisonment for any term not exceeding six months, ' or both.
