(1) In section 45 of the said Act, as amended by section 4 of the Indian Evidence Act Amendment Act, after the word "handwriting," in each of the two places in which it occurs, the words "or finger- impressions" shall be inserted. (2) To section 73 of the said Act the following shall be added, namely :— "This section applies also, with any necessary modifications, to finger-impressions." Amendment of section 86, Act I, 1872.
