20. Any officer in charge of a police-station, who, on application in writing made by a customs-officer to attend for any of tlie purposes specified in section nineteen, fails so to attend or to depute a subordinate officer not inferior in rank to a head constable so to attend, sliall for every such ofience be punished with fine not exceeding five hundred rupees.
