Whenever any officer makes any arrest or seizure under this Act, he shall within forty-eight hours next after such arrest or seizure make a full report of all the particulars of such arrest or seizure to his immediate official superior. 1. This Act may be called "The Opium Act, 1878;" Short title. Local extent. It shall extend to such local areas as the Governor General in Council may, by notification in the Gazette of India, from time to time direct; Commencement. And it shall come into force in each of such areas on such day as the Governor General in Council in like manner directs in this behalf. Repeal of enactments.
