Any Police officer who, without lawful excuse, neglects or refuses to assist as aforesaid, and any 1871.] Excise. 235 any dárogha or other officer in charge of a Police station, who, on application made by an Excise officer under section forty-five, fails to attend a search himself, or to depute a subordinate officer not being below the grade of a jamadár, shall for every such offence be punished with fine not exceeding five hundred rupees.
