The Governor General in Council may, by notification in the Gazette of India and in the local official Gazette, limit, in any manner he deems fit, the operation of any enactment for the time being in force relating to local authorities in any local area or to any particular local authority, and the exercise of any power conferred by any such enactment, in so far as the enactment relates to the possession or transport of petroleum.
