And it is hereby enacted, that whenever it shall be necessary to break open any house, warehouse or other place to effect a seizure of Salt the rules and precautions prescribed in Regulation XX. of 1817 and Section X. Regulation VII. of 1799 of the Bengal Code, for breaking into a house for execution of process of distraint, shall always be observed by the Police Officers in attendance; provided however that the responsibility for the act, and the determination whether to require the door to be broken open or not shall rest with the Officers of the Salt Department only.
