19. Drinking water. — (2) In every mine, both above and below ground, effective arrangements shall be made to provide and maintain at suitable points conveniently situated for all persons employed therein a sufficient supply of cool and wholesome drinking water.
(3) All such points shall be legibly maiked 'DRINKING WATER' in a language understood by a majority of the persons employed in the mine and no such point shall be situated within twenty feet of pny washing place, urinal or latr'ne, unless a shorter distance is approved in writing by the Chief Inspector.
(3) In respect of all ru'iie? or any class or description of mines, the Central Government may make rules for securing compliance with the provisions of sub-section-i. (2) and (?; and for the examination bj prescribed authorities of the supply and -iKtribut'on ot drinking water.
