(6) the Chief Inspector or an Inspector nominated by the Central Government; THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTBAOEDINAEY [PART II (0} a persor., not being the Chief Inspector or an Inspector, nominatedj by the Central Government; (d) two persona nominated by owners of mines or their representatives in such manner as may be prescribed; (e) two persons to represent the interest of miners, who shall be nominated in accordanco with the following provisions, namely,— (i) if there are one or more registered trade unions having in the aggregate ns members not leas thtm one-qmirter of the miners, the said persons shall be nominated by such trade union or trade unions in such manner as may be prescribed; (it) if sub-clause (1) Is not applicable and there are one or more registered trade unions having in the aggregate as members not less than one thousand miners, one of the said persons shall be nominated by suoh trade union or trade unions in such manner as may be prescribed and the other by the Central Government; (t») if neither sub-clause ({) nor sub-clause (ii) is applicable, the said persons shall be nominated by the Central Government. Explanation.— In this clause 'miner' meai^ a person employed, otherwise than in u position of supervision or management, in any of the mines for which the Mining Board is constituted. (3) The chairman shall appoint a person to act as secretary to the Board. 12. Mining Eo;irda. -(1) The Central Government may consti^ira for any part of the territories to which this Act extends, or for any group or class of mines, a Mining Boa;:d consisting of— (a) a person in the service of the Government, not being the Chief Inspector or an Inspector, nomimitud by the Central Government to act as chairman; (3) The Central Government may give directions as to the payment of travelling expenBes inourred by the secretary or any member of any suoh Mining Boerd in the performance of his duty as such secretary or member.
