ZILLA JUDGES, BENGAL ACT, 1838
ACT NO. VII. OF 1838 (Rep., Act 16 of 1874)

Passed by the Hon'ble the President of the Council of India in Council, on the 23rd April, 1838 .
I T is hereby enacted, that it shall be lawful for a Judge of any Zillah or City Court, within the territories subject to the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal, to exercise the powers vested in a single Judge of the Sudder Dewanny Adawlut, by Clause 2, Section II. Regulation IX. of 1831 of the Bengal Code.
