TVhere~s cases have arisen wherein persons have brought forward conscientious ol?jections to taking the several oatlis hitherto adminisPreaml~le. tered to Justices of' the Peace in order that they may Le duly to act uucler Commissions or" tlie Peace ; I t is enacted as follocvs :- 1. Section 1 of Act XVI of 1841 is hereby repeaied. Ihpeal of Scctioil `1` of Act XVI of 1841. 2.[All persons ][who ][are or shall be nominated and appointed in any Conl- ] Justices of the Peace to[mission of the Pcacc, ][ hall ][bc capable of acting as Justices ] be capab1e of as of the Peace in every respect according to the terms of such such on making certain declarations. Commission, upon making and subscribing before any other Justice of the Peace or the chief Civil officer of any Station within the places in and for m~hic11 any such Coinmission shall have issued, declara,tions to the followillg effect :- '. I declare that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance , o Her A/Pajesty . Queen Victoria." "I declare that 1 will truiy and faithfully discharge the Office of a Justice of the Peace." `3:` The subscriptions of such persons to the said declarations shall be deposited ~ n d kept with the records in the Home DepartSubscriptions to such declarations where to be merit of the Office of the Secretary to the Government in the deposited. p~ovince wherein such declarations shall have been n~acle.
