APPEALS BY PAUPERS ACT, 1840 ACT NO. XIX. OF 1840 (Rep., Act 16 of 1874) [14th September, 1840.] Passed by the Right Hon'ble the Governor General of India in Council, On the 14th September, 1840. Act for amending the procedure in cases of Appeals made in forma pauperis, within the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal. I. IT is hereby enacted, that the proviso contained in Clause 1, Section V. Regulation XXVIII. 1814 of the Bengal Code in regard to females of rank, shall be applicable, at the discretion of the Courts of Sudder of Dewanny Adawlut of the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal respectively, to any party desirous of appealing in forma pauperis to either of those Courts. -----------------
