I. I t is hereby enacted, that from the 1[st] day of July 1837, it shall be lawful for the several Magistrates and Joint Magistrates within the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal, to appropriate a portion of the Tax levied under Regulation XXII. 1816 of the Bengal Code, to the purpose of cleansing and repairing the Towns in which that Tax is levied.
